Things I've managed to do in the past week:
1. Complete and hand in my midterm paper without an extension.
2. Start and complete the hard copy of a zine.
3. Finish a small painting.
4. Cook dinner almost every night.
Things that fell through the cracks:
1. Adding my intermediate drawing class to my quarter. My instructer is a little, shall we say, flighty and kept forgetting to give me the add code for the registrar. The result is now an added series of bureaucratic hoops I have to jump through for the sake of rounding out my units this quarter. Whatever, I'll finagle it out of her somehow. I just hate unnecessary complications.
2. I have a history midterm in a week? When did that happen?
3. Laundry.

While Watching the Fabulous Funeral Scene at the Beginning of Angels In America: Perestroika
Camden: When I die I want my funeral to be as close to that as heterosexually possible.

one down
I put up all the pieces for the show last night and while it doesn't look polished it's better than my last installation. I dunno, this is only the second show I've been in and I both times I felt pretty good about my display until I looked around at the other artists'. I hope I get more opportunities to experiment with installations, but until I put together a decent portfolio it's all pipe dreams. Camden and I needed to get home soon after, but I'll put up some pictures tomorrow.
Meanwhile, I've been knitting a lot!
I've accumulated SO MUCH YARN over the last two years, and I've decided to knit all my holiday presents (with one exception) entirely with yarn from my existing stash. It's a challenge to take all these disparate remnant balls and match them up in harmonious combinations of texture and color, but it's a lot of fun. Like making lots of little, wooly collages. That you can wear on your head.

Nothing fancy, as you can see, but my ambition isn't really in the pattern as much as the execution.

I am really, really behind.
Two of my classes - Children's Literature and German - were unceremoniously cancelled and I've been scrambling madly to make up the units so I don't look like I was slacking off when my first applications go out in November. I've managed to sign up for Introduction to Middle Eastern History, which should be pretty fascinating, but I still need to buy the textbook to catch up with a week's worth of reading and suck it up that I'll get no credit for whatever assignments were due two days ago. And there's still another class to make up.
I'm also going to be participating in a group show that opens this Thursday, which is thrilling and amazing but I've planned around nine or ten big pieces and I've finished one.
This is not okay.
But I am okay.
